I found this item very useful when it comes to file exchanges and wireless device usage. I installed it on my Windows XP and had no issues whatsoever.
Site address above if any one needs it. First, the disc shipped with the USBBT100 would not load. Microsoft does state that this device is comaptibile with Windows 7 32 bit. I finally loaded the Broadcom software and it now works great.[.]. I know there are many varibles and I know for fact the microwave does make it break up. The problem for me was finding software that would work.
I go into my kitchen which is only about 20 ft. The drivers on the disc would not load on a Windows 7 32 bit system. I said everything works great, but the distance stated on the specifications is not even close for me. The software I downloaded from Linksys would not load the drivers either. I tried both versions. and the signal starts breaking up.
I am going to try raising the USBBT100 with some USB extension cables.
This Item will NOT work with Windows Vista. Driver is not compatible.
Start the device and within 15 seconds can be connected to my cell phone to sync my calendar, etc. Install the driver, plug it into your USB port and you are good to go. The Linksys USB Bluetooth Adapter works as advertized. or my PDA. Connected to both of my Bluetooth cell phones 1, 2 ,3. As I leave the unit plugged in to a USB port in the back of my desktop, I stop the device when I do not want to be connected to either my Nokia Cell Phones or my HP iPAQ H2795 PDA. Been using the Linksys Bluetooth Adapter for the past 6 months without any issues. In my view worth the couple of extra bucks for Linksys product.
No problem installing this in Windows XT.It has about 3 times the range of the little dongle type adapters.
